How to get to Chacahua from the airport? To get to Chacahua, the most common way is to first travel to Puerto Escondido and then take transportation to El Zapotalito, where you can catch a boat to Chacahua. From Puerto Escondido, you can rent a car and drive about an hour to El Zapotalito, park there, and take a boat. Alternatively, you can use public transportation by taking a shared van (colectivo) to El Zapotalito, followed by a taxi or pickup truck to the dock, then a boat to Chacahua. Another option is to book a tour from Puerto Escondido to the Chacahua lagoons. From El Zapotalito, the most common way to reach Chacahua is by boat, crossing lagoons and mangroves. You can also take a pickup truck along a dirt road to a dock and then transfer to a boat. If you’re coming from other cities like Oaxaca or Mexico City, you can take a bus to Puerto Escondido and then follow these directions.
